The Bah Humbug Edition

The latest scuttlebut, rumor, inuendo and downright misleading disinformation regarding the
elapsed time and peak speeds accheived on our last  ride featuring seven hardcore Yankee
Beemers and one Newk are all true and all lies.Paradox of course being the very essence of 
life, inertia and gyroscopic presbyopia.Ken Griffin on Diamond Deb's K75 and Newbie Will
Turano commanding somesorta totally boring inline four HondaHumper & yrs truly on the
R1100RL eased out of the DonutDumpParkinglot at 6:35AM and squeezed into the Boyz&Girls Club
(117/27) lot at 6:55.....Twenty minutes. Mebbe no biig deal, but somewhat advanced in
relationship to our usual thirty minutes. No one mentioned any top speed.... but Ken did
some catching up. TallSteve, Bob Aint Stoppin, Victor TheCruiser, Bruce Henry on anew R1100
(his HondaRocket is sold.) were waiting for us.Tim The Grip Fiehler came thumpin in on his
vintage Yamaha sounding & looking like he was havin a real good time. We invoked the
spirit of the absent Jefe and rode the tried & true Dutton Road Route. A truly inspired
Maynard to Bellingham expedition....... Someday I'm gonna try to learn this
maze.......but so far, staring at my Universal Street Atlas of Eastern Massachusetts I
can't seem to get past Framingham before losing it.... right the street thread and my
patience. .But in any case we stopped only for stop signs & a couple of red lights & no one
let Bob Aint Stoppin get out of sight. it was a fine & spirited ride.....Let's Hear it
for Bob.  Bob Bash for Road Captain of the Year............

NOW ......about Next week, Sunday the 14th........ it's difficult to think about Riding
while the Hysterics on the Weather Channel are screaming about twelve or more inches of the
White Stuff for tommorow.......which means at the very least a lot of salt on the
roads.....After all, those salty guys gotta do something with it to empty the barns for next
year's purchase..... and it's difficult to think about Riding 'cause it'll
be DARK at 6:30 AM ..... and it'll be cold........ but if it's dry ........
what's a little bit of dark & cold???... it's sure to lighten and warm before noon
... But sometimes it's hard to find the line between wet & dry. And there is always the
across the road frozen snow melt to add a little extra excitement.
So..............

LET'S MAKE A COMMITTEE DECISION on Saturday December 13th..
If you think you might want to ride let me know & on Friday afternoon (the 12th).
With the latest accuweather reports in hand yrs truly will survey the contenders for
a saturday morning resolution for the undecideds.

Remember last year??? It was raining in Cambridge, it was snowing in Concord
It was freezing rain in Hopkinton and the only YB with Bragging Rights was
Tim, The BoltonBolt aka The Grip & ska The BassMan, Fiehler who showed up
on his Havana Gold Slash 6 all by hisself.  so buck up guys.................
